Three moments, one lot.

  1. 01

    During the meeting

    Park it

Someone opens a side topic. Type it, pick what kind it is, and get back to the agenda. Nobody has to win the argument now.

  2. 02

    The last five minutes

    Clear the lot

Every note gets one outcome: a next step with an owner, answered, dropped, or kept for next time. The meeting closes when the lot is cleared.

  3. 03

    After

    Send the recap

A plain-text recap is ready to copy into your team chat or an email you send yourselves. Next steps stay on the board until someone marks them done.

Four kinds in. Four outcomes out.

Naming what a side topic is makes it easier to decide what to do with it. The colors stay the same on the board, in the room and in the recap.

  • Question someone needs an answer to.
  • Idea worth a proper look, later.
  • Issue that is getting in the way.
  • Decision needed from someone who can make it.
  • Next step

An owner, the step, and a due date if there is one. It stays on the board, grouped by owner, until it is done.

  • Answered

Settled in the room. Add a one-line note so the recap says how.

  • Dropped

Not worth doing. Saying so out loud is a decision too.

  • Keep parked

Carried to the next meeting, with a count of how often it has been carried.

Nothing lives in the lot forever.

Each time a note is kept for next time, its carry count goes up. When it has been carried three times (the default nudge; change it in Settings), it is marked Decide or drop on the board and in the room. A parking lot only works if things leave it.

The recap

Leave with who, what and when.

Meeting Lot sends nothing on its own. It hands you a recap in plain text to paste wherever your team already talks, and keeps the next steps on the board until they are done.

  • Printable recap for the minutes: Lot Pass
  • CSV of every item and outcome: Lot Pass
